The cold front in San Diego County will move out on Monday giving way to warmer and drier weather that will prevail through most of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
A high near 68 is expected in the downtown San Diego area Monday, with light wind in the morning and winds high as 20 mph, NWS said.
Along the coast, a mix of partly cloudy and sunny conditions are expected this week, with daytime highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Inland valley areas are expected to be partly cloudy, with highs reaching the upper 70s.
The deserts are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs reaching the mid-90s by Tuesday. Cloudy and clear conditions are expected in the mountains throughout the week, with highs in the mid-70s.
Breezy west winds will develop in the mountains and deserts each afternoon into late night, though expected to remain below advisory strength, meteorologists said.
Monday’s San Diego surf forecast includes a high-risk rip current, with surf height from 3 to 5 feet and a west swell from 280 degrees.
In addition, a small craft advisory will be in effect until at least 3 a.m. Monday for waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican Border extending 30 to 60 nautical miles out, including San Clemente Island. Northwest winds up to 20 knots will be possible over the outer waters each afternoon and evening through the middle of the week, according to the weather service.
