San Diego can expect a dry and mild weekend under partly cloudy skies with a cooling trend beginning, the National Weather Service said.

“Dry conditions continue Saturday with weaker northeast winds and slight cooling near the coast but further warming in the mountains and deserts. By Sunday, cooling will reach further inland,” the agency said.

Highs on Saturday will be 67 to 71 near the coast, 72 inland, 72 to 77 in the valleys, 63 to 71 in the mountains and around 79 in the deserts. It will be several degrees cooler on Sunday.

There are no hazardous conditions forecast for area beaches.

Light rain is possible beginning Monday night and Tuesday morning, but the total amount is unlikely to exceed half an inch.
