San Diego Gas and Electric announced plans Saturday for major maintenance work on a natural gas pipeline in Mission Valley over the next week.
The work began at 7 a.m. Saturday and will continue through Saturday, June 16.
The pipeline is located near the intersections of Mission Valley and Mission Center roads and Friars and Fashion Valley roads.
The work is not expected to impact gas service in the area, however, there may be an odor. The utility said the odor is not harmful and will be limited to locations within a mile of the construction site.
Additionally, there will be traffic control and potential road closures in place for safety while crews continue to work, which may cause changes in the flow of traffic.
