OK, moms, let’s face it: When it comes to holidays, you’re taking the lead even on Mother’s Day. This is usually the case for different reasons (1) You’re celebrating your own mother while your kids celebrate you (2) You like to take control (3) You really have no choice but to take control.

Regardless of the reasons, we’ve rounded up recommendations for 10 local restaurants that will surely fulfill the wants of all the different mothers out there. Is your partner taking charge in booking the restaurant? Then just casually forward this article his/her way.

Enclave Café

Enclave Cafe is a great restaurant for the conscious mother. The eatery — which has locations in Scripps Ranch, La Jolla and Del Mar — has a mission to put the “fun” in functional foods and bring delicious, nutrient-dense foods approved by functional medicine doctors to southern California. Spearheaded by Chef Lan Thai, Enclave Café’s diverse menus are consciously curated to include medicinal ingredients, sourced from Enclave’s 19-acre regenerative farm in Bonsall. Guests can expect meals loaded with antioxidants and rich nutrients to support overall health by increasing circulation, boosting gut health and building strong immunity.

Tip: Hours vary at each location so be sure to check them online before you make your way over!

For the mothers who want something fancy, head over to Lionfish at Pendray San Diego hotel in downtown. Guests can expect the debut of the Papillote, made with steamed halibut, lobster beurre blanc, heirloom tomatoes, asparagus, dill and fennel. Guests can also expect “fresh catches” such as coal grilled Baja striped bass and spaghetti lobster homard, sushi and sashimi or oysters. Reservations are recommended and can be made on OpenTable here

Tip: Make sure to order the Kampachi Crudo to start and share!

Harrah’s Resort Southern California

Mothers who want some fun (or who want to make a few extra dollars) can head over to Harrah’s Resort. Enjoy some time in the casino then head over to The Café where guests can enjoy filet tournedos served with mashed sweet potatoes and asparagus and topped with a bearnaise sauce. Guests can also try Fiore, the property’s classic steakhouse, or ‘ritas Cantina for a bit of spice!

Make your way to the iconic Hotel del Coronado for a meal at Serẽa Coastal Cuisine where guests can indulge in a daily selection of oysters, sashimi and mediterranean-inspired appetizers, among other fresh dishes. Reservations are recommended and can be made on OpenTable here

Tip: Make sure to call ahead and make reservations as soon as possible for outside seating on the two-tiered patio for dinner and epic sunset views.
