The weather forecast for Memorial Day weekend in San Diego calls for highs from the mid 60s to high 70s and sunny skies marred only by the morning marine layer.

“As we head into the holiday weekend, a weak trough of low pressure will slowly migrate through California,” according to the National Weather Service office in San Diego. “Its only effect would be to deepen the marine layer.”

High temperatures are expected to range from the mid 60s to low 70s along the coast, low 70s to high 70s inland, mid 70s to mid 80s in the mountains, and high 90s to low 100s in the deserts.

A south-southwest swell will bring waves of 2 to 4 feet at area beaches, but no marine hazards are expected.

In the deserts, gusty winds combined with heat will create fire weather conditions in the afternoons and early evenings through Sunday.
