Caltrans clean efforts continue Saturday when all lanes of westbound State Route 94 (SR-94) from State Route 125 (SR-125) to Interstate 805 (I-805) close for swarm maintenance activities from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Last week, Gov. Gavin Newsom and Secretary David Kim of the California State Transportation Agency announced the Clean California initiative— a $1.5 billion investment over the next three years to clean California’s transportation system and create an estimated 15,000 new jobs. This work is consistent with the Clean California initiative. 

This is the fourth consecutive weekend crews have closed a section of SR-94 for swarm maintenance work. Crews have been able to perform numerous activities including litter and brush removal as well as pavement and electrical repairs. Motorists may use the following detours but are advised to give themselves extra time to reach their destination.

  • Westbound SR-94 Full Freeway Closure from SR-125 to I-805: From westbound SR-94, take the northbound SR-125 to westbound I-8, continue on westbound I-8 to southbound SR-15, to the westbound SR-94 connector ramp.
  • Northbound SR-125 connector to eastbound SR-94: Continue on northbound on SR-125 to the Lemon Avenue off-ramp, turn left to the southbound SR-125 Lemon Avenue on-ramp, continue on southbound SR-125 to the Spring Street off-ramp, turn left to the eastbound SR-94 Spring Street on-ramp.
