San Diego ranks among the world’s 25 “most beautiful” cities to visit according to Canada’s leading online travel agency.
Toronto-based Flight Network said it compiled the list from suggestions of more than a 1,000 travel writers, bloggers and agencies.
“This extensive collaboration produced the most thoughtful and definitive list of the world’s best cities — a guide that will inspire travelers not only in 2019 but for years to come,” Flight Network said.
San Diego came in 22nd on the list, behind only New York and San Francisco among U.S. cities. It ranked just behind Buenos Aires and Toronto and just ahead of Quebec City and Chicago. Paris ranked first, followed by New York.
“Gorgeous beaches, pristine parks, and perfect weather make San Diego an ideal place to visit anytime of the year,” according to Flight Network.
“Once being part of Mexico, the culture of San Diego is heavily influenced by Mexico in its art, music, food, and even language. Taco trucks abound and margaritas seem just as common as water.”
Flight Network’s entire list goes to 50 cities, ending with Athens. Not only did San Diego rank in the first 25, but its much larger northern neighbor Los Angeles didn’t even make the list.
