The San Diego Pride parade broke attendance records according to the organization, with an unofficial attendance total of more than 300,000.

The crowd in Hillcrest enjoyed the celebration of 50 years of accomplishments marking Stonewall’s 50th anniversary. San Diego Pride also noted the local festivities, in the community and at Balboa Park, were not marred by major protests or serious incidents.
Highlights included:
  • The re-enlistment ceremony of a transgender service member, saluted by National Guard Major General Matthew P. Beevers.
  • A F-15 flyover from the California National Guard’s Fresno 144th Fighter Wing, conducted in honor of transgender service members.
  • Up to 60,000 in attendance at the Pride musical festival, which featured King Princess, Mykki Blanco, Greyson Chance and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars Aquaria, Asia O’Hara and Kim Chi.
Melissa Etheridge, singer-songwriter and LGBTQ activist, headlined the Stonewall main stage Sunday. Former San Diego-based artist Snow Tha Product performed at the Mundo Latino stage.
