The National Weather Service office in San Diego is forecasting a sunny and mild beach day on July 4, but warning of possible coastal clouds during fireworks.
It will be cloudy in the morning, but clearing by the afternoon. High temperatures will be 67 to 72 at the beaches, 74 inland, 73 to 78 in the western valleys and 79 to 84 near the foothills.
“For the fireworks shows in the evening, there may be a few clouds along the coast,” the weather service said. “However, inland locations should remain clear.”
Lows at night will be 56 to 61 along the coast and a few degrees cooler inland.
If you go to the beach, watch out for above-average surf and strong rip currents. Elevated swells from 190 to 210 degrees at 14 to 17 seconds will produce surf of 3 to 6 feet and cause possible coastal flooding at high tide.
