San Diego-area Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs have begun a month-long campaign to raise money for Rady Children’s Hospital.
This year’s fundraising campaign for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals — a network of 170 institutions — began June 10 and runs through July 7.
“The donations we raise for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals go to the San Diego families being served at the Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego,” said San Diego Walmart store manager Leo Matranga.
“The funds we raise stay local to our community, so we do everything we can to encourage customers to give to a cause that is close to our families’ hearts,” he said.
Shoppers are urged to donate $1 at checkout and encourage others on social media with the hashtag #HelpKidsLiveBetter.
Over the years, Walmart and Sam’s Club employees and customers in San Diego area have raised over $7.5 million for Rady Children’s Hospital.
