Spring is here and the means that boys of summer are back. Opening Day is this weekend as the Padres take on the San Francisco Giants. For everything else, here’s your guide.

East Village Opening Day Block Party

The start of baseball season is here, which means the annual East Village Opening Day Block Party is bac.

The ninth annual event features live music, an interactive game zone, a micro-brew beer garden and more than 30 food trucks lining the streets adjacent to Petco Park. The party takes place on J Street between Sixth and 10th avenues.

East Village Opening Day Block Party goes from noon to 7:30 p.m. Friday. Admission is free.

Rolando Street Fair

The annual Rolando Street Fair returns this weekend.

The fair features more than 100 local vendors, food, a beer garden and an interactive Kids Zone. The event also has live music entertainment, boasting six bands.

The Rolando Street Fair goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday along Rolando Boulevard, between El Cajon Boulevard and Solita Avenue. Admission is free but there is a $5 charge for the Kids Zone, which includes unlimited, all-day access to the activities.

Water Lantern Festival

Missed last week lantern festival in Santee? There’s another one in Chollas Lake this weekend.

The Water Lantern Festival celebrates peace, love and happiness. The event features food trucks, music, and fun activities. Participants get to decorate lanterns and then set them afloat on the lake.

The Water Lantern Festival goes from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $35 pre-pay or $40 at the gate for adults and $12 for children ages 8 to 14. Lanterns are included in the price of admission.

Boarded! A New Pirate Adventure

Maritime Museum of San Diego has a hilarious interactive show as part of the 31st annual America’s Schooner Cup this week.

The interactive experience put visitors right in the middle of the pirate action. Participants will be sworn in as part of the ship crew, trained how to navigate, sword fight, bail water from a sinking ship, escape from the Kings Jail, swab the deck and other pirate skills.

Boarded! A New Pirate Adventure performance times are 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets range from $20 to $30.

Poway Americana Festival

It might not be the Fourth of July yet, but this festival bleeds red, white and blue.

The Poway Americana Festival features the popular Madame Mechanic Classic Car Show, a variety of food choices, talented crafters, entertainment, a beer garden and a kid zone.  More than 10,000 people are expected to be at the event.

Poway Americana Festival goes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Community Road, between Poway Road and Hilleary Place. Admission is free.
