City Councilmember Georgette Gomez and Assemblymember Todd Gloria on Friday unveiled freeway signs that will promote the Little Saigon community along El Cajon Boulevard.

The “Little Saigon Exit” signs will be installed on Interstate 15 to promote the six-block region along the border of City Heights and Talmadge.

Last year, Gloria and Assemblymembers Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher and Shirley Weber coauthored a resolution to recognize the district with freeway signs. Sen. Toni Atkins also provided support.

“Little Saigon is a vibrant cultural hub in the City of San Diego,” said Gloria. “These wayfinding signs along I-15 will properly recognize Little Saigon and encourage more folks to visit and support the district.”

Caltrans will install the eight-foot signs on both the northbound and southbound sides of the freeway at El Cajon Boulevard.
