Mother Goose Parade
It’s the annual holiday kick-off celebration featuring whimsical floats, clowns, bands and equestrians. The 72nd annual Mother Goose Parade on Sunday is the largest of its type west of the Mississippi and the biggest parade in San Diego County.
The parade features more than 100 entries, including floats and marching bands. The route begins on Main Street at El Cajon Boulevard, and proceeds east to First Street.
The Mother Goose Parade starts at 1 p.m. and goes to 3 p.m.
Encinitas Holiday Street Fair
The Encinitas Holiday Street Fair is back this Sunday with more than 450 booths and dozens of unique retailers for you to get a head start on your holiday shopping.
The festival spans several blocks on Coast Highway and features multiple music stages and a Kids Zone.
The focus of the festival is on arts, handmade crafts, antiques, and ethnic imports. The free event goes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Doggie Street Festival
If you are looking for a furry companion, the Doggie Street Festival this Saturday is the perfect chance to do so.
The event is an adopt-a-thon for dogs and cats from several animal rescue organizations in San Diego County. People with pets are also welcome. Vet tips, pet products and services, and yummy eats are also
Doggie Street Festival goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Liberty Station. Admission is free.
San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival Grand Tasting
The San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival concludes this weekend with the Grand Tasting. The event boasts more than 700 different wines from 150 domestic and international wineries paired with more than 50 of San Diego’s top chefs offering their culinary best.
The big finale offers goers with samples from more than 30 gourmet food companies.
The Grand Tasting goes from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Tickets range from $145 to $250
Rady Children’s Ice Rink
The weather is getting cooler and one of the first outdoor ice skating rinks is opening this weekend. The Rady Children’s open-air Ice Rink at Liberty Station’s grand opening is this Saturday.
Last year, more than 33,000 people visited the rink, the proceeds from which go to benefit the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Rady Children’s Hospital.
Rady Children’s Ice Rink‘s grand opening is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. The rink is open daily except for Thanksgiving and Christmas through Jan. 6. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for children, $10 for military with ID and include skate rentals and helmets.
