The National Weather Service office in San Diego issued a flash flood warning Thursday afternoon for northeastern San Diego County.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area.

The warning will be in effect until 4:30 p.m.

Flooding was expected in Borrego Springs, Julian, Warner Springs, Lake Cuyamaca, Santa Ysabel and along portions of highways 78 and 79
