Joan Lunden, the former long-time co-host of “Good Morning America,” will be in San Diego June 28 as the headliner of this year’s Aging Summit.

The 67-year-old’s appearance at the summit is scheduled June 28 at the Town & Country Convention Center. A second location at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido will feature Lunden’s live talk via satellite.

Drawing on her life experiences, Lunden will focus on caregiver issues, healthy aging and the importance of staying socially engaged.

Participants at both locations will be able to attend breakout sessions focusing on senior housing, preventing social isolation, community volunteering, senior transportation and using social media. There will also be a session focusing on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is event is free at both locations and is being hosted by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency and made possible by Sharp HealthCare.
