High surf continues to pound the San Diego shoreline, with a National Weather Service advisory in effect through Saturday.

The surf is expected to peak Wednesday morning with sets as high as 10 to 13 feet at beaches in south San Diego County.

Forecasters expect the surf to rebuild Friday and Saturday, and warned of large breaking waves, very strong rip currents and sneaker waves. Minor coastal flooding and beach erosion are possible during high tides.

“High surf will be very hazardous, especially for inexperienced swimmers,” the weather service warned.
