Despite dry conditions and Santa Ana winds, the Mountain High ski resort in the San Gabriel Mountains is preparing to open Wednesday for the 2017-18 season.
The resort said it has nearly three times the water typically available for making snow this season.
“With so much water for snowmaking, we have been able to lay down a huge amount of snow and these are the best opening conditions in years,” the resort said on its website Tuesday.
The resort is one of the closest to San Diego and among the first to open. Early season tickets are $49 for adults and $25 for children 12-and-under.
