La Mesa begins celebrating the holidays on Wednesday with a tree lighting, live music and dance performances in the downtown village on Wednesday night.
The La Mesa Shimmer celebration begins at 5 p.m. with the tree lighting at the Lookout at Legacy Park at 5:30 p.m.
Complimentary hot cocoa, coffee and cookies will be available at the Lookout as well as complimentary coffee and refreshments in front of Light Bulb Coffee.
Live entertainment by carolers, dancers and musicians can be seen throughout the village, and businesses will be open for shopping and dining.
