The National Weather Service is predicting a cooler week for San Diego, with a slight chance of chance of rain at the beginning of the week and a greater chance at the end.

“Much cooler weather will continue through next weekend, with temperatures several degrees below normal,” the weather service’s office in San Diego predicted.

“A deeper marine layer will bring a chance for light rain tonightMonday night, and Tuesday night. A stronger weather system will bring a better chance for widespread rain Saturday night and Sunday.”

Highs on Monday will be 64 to 69 along the coast and 66 to 71 inland. The chance of measurable precipitation is 20 percent.

The significant change in the recent weather pattern is due to a trough of low pressure developing over the West Coast, according to the weather service.
