Crews will close the northbound state Route 163 connector to eastbound Interstate 8 from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, according to Caltrans.
Caltrans says the closure is needed for continued work on safety upgrades, including high-friction surface treatments, adding reflective signs and improving the drainage outlets.
Detour signs will be posted directing motorists to northbound SR-163, to Friars Road West, westbound on Friars Road, to southbound SR-163, to eastbound I-8.
Ramp improvements are expected to be complete in the fall.
Caltrans reminds drivers to “Be Work Zone Alert” by avoiding distracted driving, paying constant attention to traffic, and slowing down when approaching work zones.
