More than 2,300 SDG&E customers are without power along the coast in North County, according to the power company.
The outage is affecting 2,377 customers in Encinitas, Cardiff-By-The-Sea, Olivenhain, Carlsbad and La Costa.
It began around 2:10 p.m. and the power is expected to be restored by about 5 p.m. SDG&E is assessing the outage to determine the cause.
