Doggies were dressed to the nines for the fifth annual alumni Puppy Prom at the Helen Woodward Animal Center on Sunday, according to the event organizers.
A pair of dogs were even crowned as the 2017 Best Dressed Prom King and Queen. Junior and senior pooches gathered around the punch bowl for chips and salsa, with fun activities like corsage-making.
Each pooch got to have their picture-perfect prom photos taken against a classic prom backdrop.

The event was rained out two weeks ago on the Cinco de Mayo weekend and rescheduled for 10 a.m. this weekend at Casa Sol y Mar.
Puppy Prom featured adorable “Freshman” puppies who were up for adoption and a couple of amazing senior “Chaperone” dogs. They were all dressed to impress and looking for their forever homes, said an event organizer.
The free event offered a variety of fun festivities. Sydnee’s Pet Grooming offered “Pawdicures” and “Fur-styling” to prep the puppies for a glamorous celebration.
According to event organizers, former orphans and their families have been united at the prom-themed party from as far back as 2004. Rescued dogs were decked out in dresses, tuxes, corsages and painted paw-nails, as they showed off their forever families.
