A classic San Diego weekend filled with pleasantly warm, bright blue skies with a sprinkle of light coastal clouds is currently forecast to leave San Diegans as spoiled with sunshine as usual.
Forecasters say a high pressure aloft is slowly building over Southern California creating warmer weather and few clouds, according to the National Weather Service.
Despite clear skies, the atmosphere will retain some moisture. There will be a few coastal clouds, few and far between, across the region until Sunday, said forecasters.
High temperatures will peak at 65 to 70 degrees near the coast, 75 to 80 near inland valleys, 79 to 84 near inland empire, 55 to 70 in the mountains, 88 to 93 in Coachella Valley and 76 to 81 in the Mojave desert, according to the National Weather Service.
Water temperatures should range between 57 to 62 degrees. Surf will rise at 2 to 4 feet with local sets up to five feet tall in San Diego County, said forecasters.
