The wet, windy storm has triggered a huge power outage Friday across San Diego, according to utility crews.
About 35,000 homes and businesses are without power due to storm-related utility equipment problems, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.
Communities at least partially affected by the outages included Mission Bay, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Point Loma, Sunset Cliffs, Coronado, downtown San Diego, National City, Chula Vista, San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, Imperial Beach, Bonita, Rancho Del Rey, La Mesa, El Cajon, Lakeside, La Jolla, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Vista, San Marcos and Escondido, according to the SDG&E website.
There are no immediate estimates for when service will be restored to the various affected areas.
A Gas & Electric Service’s Meteorologist warned San Diegans to avoid touching downed power lines and report them to the police.
