Lane closures on State Route 67 through Ramona will begin tonight, due to striping, widening and traffic signal work, according to Caltrans.

The closures will take place at the Dye Road/Highland Valley Road intersection on SR-67 from 7 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday, Caltrans reported.

The intersection will remain open with one-way traffic control, but drivers are advised to expect delays for the slower flow of traffic.

“The lane closures are needed to accommodate striping operations and traffic signal modifications as crews remove the old traffic signal poles from the four corners of the intersection. New traffic signal poles were previously installed and will be activated,” the Caltrans statement read.

The work is part of the SR-67 Dye Road/Highland Valley Road Interchange Project, which will widen SR-67 from two to four lanes through the intersection. Construction began earlier in the year and is expected to be completed in summer, with another year for landscaping.

Motorists are reminded to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment in the project area. The work schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
