A stretch of westbound State Route 78 in Escondido will be closed Tuesday night so crews can pave.
The closure at Metcalf Street just east of Interstate 15 will last from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to Caltrans.
Westbound motorists will be detoured around the closure using northbound Interstate 15, westbound El Norte Parkway, then southbound I-15, which leads back to SR-78, state transit officials said.
