The CicloSDias route (approximately 3 miles) will be continuous through the neighborhoods of Normal Heights, North Park and City Heights.

Councilmembers Todd Gloria and Marti Emerald will roll into North Park on Sunday, alongside 15,000 people skating, biking, scooting, strolling and dancing to kick off San Diego’s fourth CicloSDias.

The family-friendly open streets celebration, hosted by the San Diego Bike Coalition, will close select streets in North Park, Normal Heights and City Heights to automobiles and open them for people who want to walk, pedal or skate. To jump-start the celebration, select businesses have arranged live music, art, life-size board games, costume contests and more.

CicloSDias is a day that gives communities a break from the stress of car traffic, promotes hundreds of local businesses and encourages residents to experience their neighborhood sans cars,” according to a news release promoting the event.

“CicloSDias is the day people in San Diego fall back in love with their community,” said Bike Coalition Executive Director Andy Hanshaw.

The event takes place Sunday from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The CicloSDias route extends along parts of 30th Street, Adams Avenue, Lincoln Avenue and University Avenue for a total of nearly three miles (see attached map).
