About 50 people protested a three-story home renovation in an Ocean Beach neighborhood on Saturday.
The protest — which lasted two and half hours — was peaceful, said Allison Rush, who lives next door to the project at Ebers and Green streets.
“People drove by, honking their horns in support,” Rush said.
Rush and others say the development is too big for their neighborhood and may be in violation of several local codes.
“There are a lot of people who are as upset about this as I am,” she added.
John Ambert, chairman of the Ocean Beach Planning Board, also spoke at the protest, Rush said. The Planning Board has asked the city of San Diego to put a stop to the development, Rush said. She and other opponents plan to hold a town hall-style meeting in the near future.
