Authorities Tuesday publicly identified a 25-year-old woman killed in late-night solo car crash on a South Bay freeway ramp over the Labor Day weekend.
Elizabeth Sandoval of Spring Valley lost control of her 2016 Mini Cooper while driving at high speed on the connector from westbound state Route 54 to southbound Interstate 805 in National City shortly before 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol and county Medical Examiner’s Office.
The vehicle left the roadway, plowed into a concrete slab and overturned, the CHP reported. Sandoval died at the scene of the accident.
The wreck forced a several-hour closure of the ramp.
