
Grab the family and head to Balboa Park this Friday evening.
“Park After Dark” will allow visitors to enjoy the beloved area after hours with 12 museums extending its regular hours to 8 p.m. Some of the museums include the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, the San Diego Museum of Man, the San Diego Museum of Art and the Museum of Photographic Arts.
On top of that, more than a dozen food trucks will be at the park including Caribbean Escape, Cousins Maine Lobster and New York on Rye.
“Park After Dark” runs through Sept. 2.

Beer Fest in Mira Mesa
It isn’t a weekend in San Diego County without a beer festival. The Mira Mesa Chamber of Commerce and San Diego CityBeat will hosts the 5th annual Festival of Beers Saturday at the Mira Mesa Community Park. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample more than 60 different beers from 30 different breweries. Food trucks and live music will top off the event. Tickets are $45.50 for VIP and $37.50 for general admission tickets.
Belle in Escondido
The 1991 Disney movie “Beauty and the Beast” comes to life in Escondido beginning Friday. The musical will be performed at Kit Carson Park Amphitheater, telling the story of a young woman named Belle and her visit to a mysterious castle in an attempt to rescue her father from a beast. The musical runs from Aug. 12 to Aug. 27. Tickets start at $15 for children and $22 for adults.
ArtWalk at Liberty Station
The 11th annual ArtWalk at Liberty Station returns this weekend. The event celebrates the best in visual arts, music and interactive art to Point Loma. Spectators can also expect to meet numerous local artists and enjoy live entertainment. Of course, you can also plan to have some delicious eats at one of the nearby restaurants. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Latin Food Festival
The Latin Food Festival kicks off Friday, featuring the best Latin chefs San Diego has to offer. The event, which runs through Monday, features Martin Omar, Claudia Sandoval, Mario Medina, and Alejandra Schrader, among others. Attendees can expect to sample great eats, watch cooking demonstrations and celebrate the Latin culture. Check out the full calendar of the festival here. Olé!
