Did you have a long week? What better way to unravel than with the San Diego Beer and Music Festival.
The Saturday fest, hosted by Rockstarbeer Productions and 94/9 San Diego, features more than 100 local and regional craft beers. Some of the breweries attendees can expect include Jamul Brewing Co., Angel City Brewery, Duck Foot and Honest Abe.
On top of the wide selection of brews, bands such as Hawthorne Heights, Gone Avery and Buddy Nielsen are expected to provide live entertainment.
Best of all, the proceeds from the event will go to the Chef Celebration Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to uplifting San Diego’s culinary scene.
The event runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at NTC Liberty Station. Tickets start at $35.

Hawaiian Entertainment
Head up to Escondido for a night filled with Hawaiian entertainment. Dancers from Kuhai Halau San Diego and featuring Sean Na`auao and Kupu Na`auao will perform at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. Guests will witness traditional Hawaiian dances from some of the best acts in San Diego. The show takes place at 6 p.m. Friday. Tickets start at $45.
Breast Health and Music
Join Susan G. Komen San Diego, the county’s largest funder of free breast cancer services and support, for its “Breast Health & Music for the Soul” this Saturday. The event will feature music, food and plenty of information on breast health.The event will also feature an informative conversation about debunking the myths surrounding breast cancer in our community. Jason French, laid-back soul, pop, and reggae-influenced singer/songwriter born in San Diego, will perform in honor of his aunt who passed away from breast cancer. The free event takes place at 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Alpha Center at 6323 Imperial Ave. in San Diego.
Chollas Lake Walkathon
The Black American Political Association of California’s San Diego Chapter will host its 7th annual Walkathon on Saturday. The event takes place at 7:30 a.m. at the beautiful Chollas Lake Park. Attendees can also expect health and fitness vendors, food and drinks. Registration prices range from $20 to $100 with proceeds going toward scholarships to students.
Open Mic in Oceanside
Do you sing or play an instrument? Showcase your talent in Oceanside. The city of Oceanside and The Friends of Oceanside Parks will host an “Open Mic” day at Heritage
Park on Sunday. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Performers are asked to arrive by 3:45 p.m. to sign up. Refreshments will also be provided. Heritage Park is located at 220 Peyri Road in Oceanside.
