The San Diego Blood Bank, primary supplier of blood to the majority of hospitals in San Diego County, will host its 40th Annual Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive at Comic-Con International this week.
The blood drive, will be held Thursday through Sunday, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in Grand Hall D at 1 Market Place in San Diego.
Donors will receive an exclusive Captain America T-shirt.
Ryan Wilcox, the Grossmont High School student who’s battling cancer, will also be at the blood drive. Earlier this year, Wilcox was visited by on-screen Captain America, Chris Evans along with co-stars Robert Downey Jr. and Gwenyth Paltrow.
To be eligible to donate blood you must be at least 17 years old (15 and 16 year olds may donate with parental consent), weigh at least 114 pounds and be in general good health.
The blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
