More than a dozen major Fourth of July fireworks shows are being planned for San Diego County in 2016. Here’s a complete guide to events around the region.
City of San Diego
Big Bay Boom: The biggest fireworks show in San Diego is just along the bay. The show can be seen from various locations including Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero, Marina District, Seaport Village/South Embarcadero and Coronado Ferry Landing. The show starts at 9 p.m. and can also be seen from the comfort of your own home. Fox 5 will be airing the show live.
Seaworld: SeaWorld San Diego holds a fireworks show during most nights in the summer. On July 4, viewers can expect to see the sky light up at 9:40 p.m.
Ocean Beach: The community of Ocean Beach will host a fireworks show from the downtown pier starting at 9 p.m.
La Jolla Cove: Head to Ellen Browning Scripps Park to see a coastal fireworks display starting at 9 p.m.
North County
Del Mar Fairgrounds: The San Diego County Fair will close on July 4 with a wonderful fireworks display. Expect to see the show at 9 p.m.
Legoland: The theme park will host its Red, White, BOOM show beginning at 8:30 p.m. The show will include live music and all-American games.
Oceanside: The city of Oceanside will host an early fireworks show on Sunday, July 3. The show starts at 9 p.m. at the El Corazon Park on Rancho Del Oro Road.
San Marcos: San Marcos will host a fireworks show at Bradley Park at 9 p.m., but head to the park early for carnival games, jumpers, live entertainment and food. The party starts at 6 p.m.
Escondido: The city’s 53rd annual Independence Day celebration begins at 4 p.m. with free entertainment in Grape Day Park and culminates with fireworks at 9 p.m. Don’t miss the special performance by Camp Pendleton’s 1st Marine Division Band.
Poway: Head to Poway High School for a fun-filled night that includes games, activities and a DJ. The fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m.

East County
El Cajon: The city of El Cajon will host a picnic and fireworks show at Kennedy Park. The event starts at 1 p.m. with the show being held at 9 p.m.
Santee: Santee will host a fireworks show at the Town Center Community Park at 9 p.m. Earlier in the day, attendees can expect to see a patriotic ceremony and enjoy family-friendly games.
South County
National City: National City will host a carnival from June 30 to July 4, running from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. each night. A fireworks show will be held at 9 p.m., July 4.
San Ysidro: San Ysidro will host a family-friendly event from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 2. A fireworks show will be held at 8:45 p.m.
Chula Vista: Chula Vista will host a fireworks show at the U.S. Olympic Traning Center. The show begins at 9 p.m. and the cost is $10 per car. Attendees can listen to synchronized music on Magic 92.5 FM.
The city of Imperial Beach will host a fireworks show off the Imperial Beach Pier at 9 p.m. Synchronized music will air on KYXY 96.5.
