In honor of Memorial Day, the Veterans Museum in Balboa Park has a series of events lined up for the weekend.

On Saturday, the Vietnam Veterans of San Diego will read the names of those who lost their lives during the Vietnam War, as well as, those missing in action. The day will end with a candlelight vigil.

Service members who lost their lives will be acknowledged again on Sunday.

On Monday, the day will begin at 8 a.m. with a wreath laying and color guard ceremony by the Vietnamese commmunity of San Diego. Guests will also speak at 9 a.m., followed by an open house at 10 a.m.

Other Memorial Day events include:

A ceremony will be held at Mt. Soledad with keynote speaker Capt. Craig Clapperton, the commanding officer for USS Theodore Roosevelt. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.

Miramar National Cemetery will host a service at 1 p.m. Sunday featuring Maj. Gen. Joseph Martin, commanding general of the Army Training Center. The service will include recognition of those who served.

The American Legion San Dieguito Post 416 in Encinitas will host a Memorial Day ceremony at 11.a.m. Monday followed by live music and food.

A ceremony will also take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Here are some other events happening this weekend:

Head to Balboa Park on Friday evening for some fun. At least 10 museums will begin extending their hours each Friday through Labor Day weekend. There will also be food trucks and entertainment throughout the park. Festivities run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Friday night.

Santee will host a street fair Saturday featuring 300 food and vendor booths, two stages of live entertainment, carnival rides, a beer garden and plenty of family-friendly activities. The fair will take place at the Riverview Parkway and Town Center Parkway. The event is free and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Try food from around the world during the 36th annual Ethic Food Fair in Balboa Park. The food fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the International Cottages. Attendees can expect to sample food from 33 different cultures. Live entertainment and native costumes will also be on display.

Hop onto the USS Midday for the annual Freedom Festival concert. The concert will feature the World Classic Rockers with proceeds benefiting the San Diego Armed Service YMCA, USO San Diego and The Enlisted Project. Tickets range from $59.50 to $79.50.
