Caltrans crews will close the eastbound Interstate 8 on-ramp from Sports Arena Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for pavement work.
Motorists will be detoured north on West Mission Bay Drive, then right onto Sea World Drive to the southbound Interstate 5 on-ramp, to eastbound I-8.
The daytime closure is needed because the air tempature must be warm enough for the pavement to seal during the six hour work window.
