A stretch of northbound Interstate 805 near University City will be closed Wednesday night and Thursday night so Caltrans crews can work on a bridge and guardrails and install traffic signals.
The closure between the La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road exit and the Interstate 5 merge will extend from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday and again during the same hours that night through Friday morning, according to Caltrans.
Most northbound traffic will be diverted onto westbound state Route 52, then onto northbound Interstate 5. State transit officials said motorists headed to destinations within the closure area would be allowed off the freeway at Governor and Nobel drives.
