National Weather Service map shows number of degrees above normal by midweek.

Sunday will be sunny and mild in San Diego, but another winter heat wave is on the way.

The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures as much as 15 to 20 degrees above normal on Monday and Tuesday.

“High pressure aloft and strengthening offshore flow will create a steady warming trend this weekend…becoming well above normal through the middle of next week,” the weather service said.

The forecast for San Diego on Sunday calls for low clouds in the morning, then mostly sunny with highs 65 to 70 near the coast and 73 inland. Lows overnight Sunday will be 44 to 53.

The weather service said gusty offshore winds are likely Monday and Tuesday, though critical fire weather conditions are not anticipated.
