Here are just five fun 5Ks worth trying in 2016 as you crack the race world.

Paws FUR Pink on Feb. 21 at Liberty Station

What’s more encouraging on a run than having your best friend by your side? The Paws FUR Pink run brings the two-legged and four-legged together at the beautiful Liberty Station area to support breast cancer research. The event is complete with plenty of activities for your furry pals. Prices range from $15 to $48.

The Super Run on March 5 at Embarcadero

Pull out those capes and channel your superhero powers for a race through the Embarcadero Marina North in the city of San Diego. The Super Run encourages runners to dress up as their favorite superheroes and it supports charities such as Down Syndrome Association of San Diego. Prices range from $25 to $45.

Heartbreak Ridge Run on April 9 at Camp Pendleton

If you want a challenge, check out this mud run at the North County Marine Base. Participants run through the base with views of meadows and mountains. Oh, you get muddy too. Prices range from $10 to $65.

Coast to Crest 5K on April 30 in Del Mar

Get a dose of the gorgeous views of Del Mar with the inaugural Coast to Crest 5K. The event begins and ends at the North County gem the San Dieguito River Park. Prices range from $25 to $30.

Avocado 5K on May 28 in Fallbrook

Love avocados and the charm of small towns? The Avocado 5K is just for you. The race takes participants through the streets of downtown Fallbrook in North County. Stick around after the race to go antique shopping or experience some good homestyle cooking! Prices range from $36 to $36.
