Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns said Harvey Charles Gillman was the first baby born at the hospital in 2016.
He was born at 12:35 a.m. at the hospital in Serra Mesa and weighed in at 7 lbs, 11 ounces, according to doctors.
Harvey wasn’t due until Jan. 8, so he was something of a New Year’s surprise for his parents.
His mother, Rebecca Gillman, and father, Josh Gillman, are doing well. The family lives in Chula Vista.
