San Diego County is expected to get wet on early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service. A storm headed down the state’s coast will bring cool temperatures and showers all over the county, the NWS predicted in its forecast discussion.
The rains will mostly be mild, the NWS said, but there is a possibility for thunderstorms with some heavy rain. Wind gusts may reach up to 50-60 mph in the mountain and desert areas, and west of the mountains, it may reach 20-30 mph.
Potential safety hazards to look out for include slippery roads, strong winds, local urban and small stream flooding, as well as a slight chance of mud slides, said the NWS. High profile vehicles should be especially cautious of strong winds.
By early evening on Monday, the storm should leave the San Diego region.
