Mama’s Kitchen, a San Diego charity that regularly nourishes and feeds AIDS and cancer patients, is celebrated its 25th anniversary on Saturday.
The organization was expecting at least 400 guests at the anniversary gala. Claudia Sandoval, the most recent winner of Fox TV’s “MasterChef,” was scheduled to attend the event, according to Executive Director Alberto Cortes.
The University City event was sold out, and the event’s organizers plan to raise $300,000 for the annual food budget, said Cortes. The gala included dinner and a live auction.
According to Mama’s Kitchen, the organization provides food to over 1,400 people annually. They delivered their seven-millionth meal in April, 2014.
