National Weather Service map shows forecast high temperatures on Labor Day.

Labor Day in San Diego will be hot and humid as a warming trend begins in Southern California.

“High pressure aloft will bring a warming trend this week with noticeably warmer days and nights than last week,” the National Weather Service said Monday.

The forecast calls for highs of 79 to 84 near the coast and 85 to 90 inland with 15 mph winds.

Monsoonal moisture will bring a small chance of thunderstorms to the mountains Monday afternoon.

A large southwest swell will produce big surf and strong rip currents at the beaches. San Diego Lifeguards reported 125 water rescues on Saturday and 238 on Sunday.
