National Weather Service map shows forecast high temperatures on Wednesday.

It’s back to warm summer weather for the San Diego area this week after July’s cool days and record rainfall.

The National Weather Service said building high pressure over Arizona and New Mexico will result in temperatures ranging from several degrees above normal in coastal San Diego to very hot conditions in the eastern deserts. Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week.

Temperatures in San Diego by Wednesday will range from the low 80s along the coast to the low 90s in the foothills and well into the 100s in the eastern deserts.

The return to summer’s warmth comes after a record wet July.

The weather service reported Sunday that Lindbergh Field received a record 1.71 inches of rain during July compared to a normal 0.03 inches.

San Diego is now at 105 percent of normal rainfall for the 2014/2015 season. This does not end the drought, the weather service said, because the drought is a widespread, multi-year rainfall deficit that cannot be solved by above normal rainfall at one location.
