A strong and deep marine layer will bring cooler weather to the San Diego area this week, especially for coastal and valley locations.

Monday is forecast to be cloudy in the morning with partial afternoon clearing. Highs will be  71 to 76 and light west winds will reach 15 mph in the  afternoon.

The National Weather Service said the coolest day this week is likely to be Wednesday, with highs only reaching the low 70s.

It will be cloudy most mornings and into the afternoon, but no precipitation is expected.

For Friday and into next weekend, temperatures will begin to slowly rebound across Southern California, the weather service said.
