From running events to parades to late-night fireworks, numerous Independence Day celebrations are scheduled Saturday throughout San Diego County.
Running events are set to begin at 7 a.m. at Tidelands Park in Coronado and Miramar Ranch Elementary School in the Scripps Ranch section of San Diego. Parades are scheduled to step off in both of those communities at 10 a.m.
Other parades are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. along Mira Mesa Boulevard and noon along Main Street in Julian.
Festivals are also scheduled at Old Poway Park in Poway, Kimball Park in National City, the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, Kennedy Park in El Cajon, Town Center Community Park East in Santee, and Brengle Terrace Park in Vista.
Military personnel at Camp Pendleton will enjoy the 25th annual 4th of July Beach Bash at the base’s Del Mar Beach Resort, with recreational activities, entertainment and fireworks.

- The 15th annual Big Bay Boom on San Diego Bay, with viewing available at the Coronado Ferry Landing, the Embarcadero, Harbor Island and Shelter Island, along with a separate show at Imperial Beach

- Mira Mesa Community Park, 8575 New Salem St.
- Ocean Beach Pier, foot of Newport Avenue
- Rancho Bernardo, Webb Park, off Bernardo Center Drive

- Carlsbad, Legoland California, One Legoland Drive, at 8:30 p.m.

A fireworks display is also scheduled at 10:30 p.m. at SeaWorld San Diego, 500 SeaWorld Drive.
