Tiffany Two, a cat recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest in the world, has died in Ocean Beach at the age of 27 years, 2 months and 20 days.
“Guinness World Records is saddened to hear that Tiffany Two, the holder of oldest cat living record, has passed away in her sleep,” the London-based organization said on its website.
The short-haired, black and orange tortoiseshell cat was bought by her owner Sharon Voorhees from a local pet shop at the age of six weeks. Voorhees paid $10 for her and commonly referred to Tiffany Two as the “best money ever spent,” according to Guinness.
The cat died May 22 at Vorhees’ home in Ocean Beach after the equivalent of 125 human years.
