The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped today for the 18th consecutive day and the 20th time in 21 days, decreasing 1.4 cents to $3.73.
The average gas price has dropped 25.3 cents over the past 21 days, including 1.9 cents on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price rose 87.4 cents during the stretch of 28 increases in 30 days that immediately preceded the current run of decreases.
The average gas price is 10.8 cents less than one week ago, 3.2 cents lower than one month ago and 38.9 cents below what it was one year ago.
Further decreases are expected because of the dropping wholesale price, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
