A week after Imperial Beach was closed to swimming due to sewage-contaminated runoff, the county declared the water safe again.
The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health announced Saturday afternoon that water quality testing confirms that the ocean water is safe.
Closure was lifted for the beach from the south end of Seacoast Drive north to Carnation Avenue and including Camp Surf.
The closure was due to sewage contaminated water from the Tijuana River following two days of rain. Silver Strand and Coronado beaches had also been closed.
