A late winter storm will bring significant rain and snow, along with a few thunderstorms, to the San Diego area starting Thursday afternoon and continuing through Friday.
The National Weather Service forecasts a 60 percent change of rain along the coast and 70 percent inland. Rainfall totals could range from three-quarters of an inch in coastal areas up to two inches in the mountains.
Isolated thunderstorms could bring heavier rain to some areas, and snow is expected to fall at elevations over 6,000 feet.
Highs in the San Diego area will be 62 to 67 and a few degrees cooler inland. Gusty winds up to 25 mph are expected in the afternoon.
Remember to turn off your sprinklers when it starts raining to save water during the drought.
