What would Mother’s Day be without a brunch? From classic to trendy, from north county to south, here are Times of San Diego’s 10 can’t-miss destinations for Mother’s Day 2015.
Hotel del Coronado — You can brunch where royalty dined at the classic Hotel del Coronado. Mother’s Day brunch will be held in the Crown Room and Oceanfront Ballroom. Guests will be treated to a “Mommy and Me” fashion show with Lilly Pulitzer selections. Cost is $115 for adults in the Crown Room and $105 in the ballroom. Children ages 6-10 are $42, and children 5 and under eat free.
Croce’s Park West — For late-rising moms, Croce’s Park West in Hillcrest is offering Mother’s Day dinners Friday through Sunday in addition to the traditional brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The prix fixe dinners are served from 5 p.m. until the restaurant closes. Brunch is from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner and brunch are each $35 per person.
SEA180 Coastal Tavern — South San Diego County offers an increasing number of top brunch choices, with SEA180 in Imperial Beach leading the way. A champagne seafood brunch will be served from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The price is $59.95 for adults, $12.95 for children 6 to 12 and free for those younger.
Flagship Cruises — Your brunch can be a moveable feast if you take Flagship Cruises‘ Mother’s Day brunch tour on San Diego bay. The two-hour, calm-water trip includes a brunch buffet, champagne and mimosas. Morning cruises board at 9:30 a.m., and afternoon cruises at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $69.50 for adults and $41.70 for children 4-12 years old.
Kitchen 4140 — Brunch can be a trendy experience at Kitchen 4140 in Bay Ho. The neighborhood eatery is offering a Mother’s Day version of its popular Sunday brunch, including complimentary house-made truffles and a complimentary glass of Prosecco for every mom. Featured dishes include Red Velvet Waffles, Short Rib Sandwich, Duck Confit with Waffles, and Korean Style Hash.
Roy’s — Maybe you can’t go to Hawaii for Mother’s Day, but you can treat mom to Roy’s Pacific Rim cuisine. The restaurants downtown and in La Jolla are serving brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The price is $35.95 per person.
Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach — Enjoy the ocean air and views while dining with your loved ones at the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach. Mother’s Day brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Prices are $37.95 for adults and $18.95 for children.
Morada — The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is serving Mother’s Day brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the newly renovated Morada restaurant. The price is $85 per person.
Pacifica Del Mar — Whether or not your mother likes to surf, Del Mar is an excellent location to view the Ocean. Pacifica Del Mar is offering a $39 prix fixe menu beginning at 10 a.m. an continuing until 4 p.m.
Le Parfait Paris — Brunch doesn’t have to be the classic sit-down affair. Pick up some French pastries and a bottle of champagne at Le Parfait Paris in downtown San Diego and surprise your mom!
